How to make Candles at Home

Making Candles Using Blend of Soy and Paraffin wax

Equipements:

Double boiler.

Thermometer

Scale

Metal Stirring Spatula

Wick bars

Wick stickers

Measuring cup

mason jars or containers of your choice.

Ingredients:

1 cup soy wax + 1 cup of paraffin wax 

Cotton wicks

50 drops essential oil of your choice. (Tea tree, Vanilla, Caramel Latte, Peppermint, Lavender, Fresh linen, Cedarwood, Sweet Orange}

Instructions:

Mix the soy and Paraffin wax together

Melt the wax in double boiler.

Prepare the containers, stick the wick using the sticker on the bottom.

Check the temperature of the wax, when it reaches the proper temperature 180 - 185 F, add the essential oil.

Pour the melted wax in the containers and let the wax set.

Trim the wick to 1/4 inch above the set wax.

This pie is the perfect combination of sweetness and spice, featuring a buttery crust and a smooth, creamy filling made with fresh sweet potatoes and a hint of cinnamon.

 

Sweet Potato Pie

Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

9-inch unbaked deep dish pie crust.

3 medium sweet potatoes

1/2 cup butter

2 Eggs

1 can evaporated milk (5 Ounce)

1 teaspoon cornstarch

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ginger

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425° and line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil. Wash the sweet potatoes and prick them a few times with a fork. Place them on the baking sheet and bake for about 45 minutes or until tender. Remove from the oven and allow to cool, Peel the potatoes when cool.
  • Using a mixer, mash the potatoes until smooth. Add the eggs and melted butter and mix to combine. Add the evaporated milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and vanilla and mix until combined and smooth.
  • Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F. Place the unbaked pie crust on a baking sheet. Pour the pie filling into the crust and bake in the for 40-50 minutes, or until the pie is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the pie to cool. 
  •  Serve topped with whipped cream or toasted marshmallow cream, if desired.
